Hi. I have a TN556D S/T Interface BRI board in our definity. I'm needing to know what kind of station I need to make so that I can use a standard S/T interface off of like a polycom unit, or say a router, etc... I know the station types are 7500 and 8500, but the only ones I see mainly point to actualy definity phones..

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Chris

Well I use cisco routers connected to the Tn556 board. I added data modules and in the type field entered wcbri. These work well but you don't always get the same ISDN functionality as you would do with a clean ISDN-2 independent of the switch.

Scott - Do you have a data mod form you could paste? I've posted a couple times recently and am still having issues. -CL

This is how mine look - I am in Europe.

Data Extension: 020 Name: XXXXX
Type: wcbri COS: 1
Port: 02A1605 COR: 66 Multimedia? n
TN: 1

ABBREVIATED DIALING
List1:

SPECIAL DIALING OPTION:

CIRCUIT SWITCHED DATA ATTRIBUTES
Default Duplex: full Default Mode: async Default Speed: 1200

DATA MODULE CAPABILITIES
Default ITC: unrestricted Default Data Application: M2_A

BRI LINK/MAINTENANCE PARAMETERS

Country Protocol: etsi Endpt Init? n

Hope this helps...

I have virtually the same config, working with a Tandberg Video Conference system.

The issue I have had in the past with some routers, but not the Tandberg, is that a BT ISDN-2 line has a 100ohm terminating resistor within the socket and also provides up to 50volts of power.

The power is unlikely to be an issue, but the 100ohm resisor can be.

You can buy a modtap plug in adapter that sorts that out. Page 751 of the Autumn/Winter 2001 Blackbox catalogue. ISDN Terminator (LAU007), they say it's a 120ohm resistor, so they are probably correct.

Hi Lopes -my data data module setup is the same as pasted by BIS

Looks like I'm up. It seems to have been the endpoint init needing to be no instead of yes. Thanks! -CL
