ALOHA POS Ver. 6.1.9

Long story short...

Running an older ALOHA POS system that I bought at an auction. Been using it since January to run a start up restaurant. Not using the credit card functions, but using everything else, ordering, time clock, etc. 3 terminal system with back office server.

Accidently changed the name of the server and the network that it connects to while trying to connecting the server to the internet. Got it to connect, but realized shortly after, that the FOH terminals "cannot find file server."

I know that the POS system will not turn on untill EDC is running. We have been running all the transactions as "cash" to track sales in the system.

Aloha EDC is now sending errors that "CEdcDlg::OnInitDialog cannot find IberDir:\\ALOHABOH\BOOTDRV\Aloha" then "CEdcDlg::OnInitDialog Unable to find the Edc DCOM server. Make sure it is properly registered and licensed."

Managed to find the original network name and the computer name by going to the event viewer. Changed the names back. EDC is still having errors.

any Advice?

EDC shouldn't have anything to do with the terminals not working. Make sure the Aloha drive is still shared as "BOOTDRV", the server name is correct according to the "Server" variable in Environment variables, Check the IP scheme and make sure it matches the terminals, and make sure CTLSVR service starts on the server without errors.

Also make sure the workgroup did not get changed and it is the same as on the terminals.

you changed the computer name of the fileserver...did you change the SERVER variable in the ibercfg.bat file on the terminals to match said name?

Also verify that the EDCPATH variable has also been changed to show the new server name.
