Hello!

In a Windows 2000 server with the "<windows 2000 root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe" error message at boot up time...what is the best way to get the system back up?

I don't have that issue at the moment but I recall it has happened to other colleages.

Thanks!

Sunden

Glad to be here!

I assume that the system fail to boot.If this is the case then the following answer can help you.Otherwise ignore this suggestion.
1. The boot.ini file has wrong entry
2. The ntoskrnl.exe file is corrupted.
In the first case you have to correct the entry in boot.ini file.Any win2k server book has a sample .ini file.
In the second case you have to copy a new file to the root of the system.
