Hello,

I would like to create a button that will jump to a different frame and text will appear. Problem is: how do you keep that text on the screen "forever" until the user presses the next button? Even if you have the text play for 1000 frames, it'll eventually end and the text will disappear from the screen possibly while the visitor is still on that page.

thank you.

If I understand what you want to do....you might want to put a stop() action on the frame you go to. The action will stop on that frame and then you can direct the user to another frame when they press another button. If you have any animation that occurs after this frame and goes on for a number of frames then just place the stop action at the end of that. Just make sure that the layer that you have the text box on conintues until to the stop action.

Hope tat helps.

Where do movie clips come in? Would you use them at all in this case?

Its always good to use movie clips, since they are like their own timeline.

If you have a big animation in a movie clip, and then place the movie clip in frame one, and put a stop() action in frame one, then run your file, u will see, on the main timeline, that your animation continues to play even though its sitting on frame one. Neat concept huh?? its also better for organization, and helps with the file size.

If this is not clear enough, please dont hesitate to ask.
