Hello...I run a small network of a mix of Linux and Windows boxes. I'm wanting to set up an automatic backup system to have my Windows boxes backed up on my main Linux (SuSe 8.1 Pro) box. Any suggestions for how to best go about doing this? I am wanting it automated, as I would rather not have to double check that everyone is backing up.

Thanks!

You can buy backup software from CA Arcserve, Veritas or Legato.Good Luck....:)

I recommend Arkeia Backup software. I have worked with Arcserve and Backup Exec. However, Arkeia leaves them in the dust. Here is the url:

Arkeia is a professional network solution, able to back up your heterogeneous network. Arkeia can support as backup server and/or as backup client.

What kind of Windows data do you want to back up? If its just files/folders, then you can write a simple script that will mount a Windows share and then copy its contents onto your backup media. If you need more functionality than this, then go with one of the commercial backup solutions mentioned above.
