Hello,

Hoping someone can help with PRI line appearance on Norstar.
We recently installed a PRI to a Norstar system which replaced POTS lines.
However, when we assigned the new PRI lines to have appearances on phones they behave more like "MCR" on a PBX.
We assigned PRI line 221 to have five appearances on five phones. When the first incoming call rings, it rings on all five phones.
When a second incoming call rings, it only rings on the remaining four phones, and so on.
We would like for our five agents to be able to see their other line appearances ring when multiple calls are coming in.
Is there any way to assign the PRI lines so they act like an incoming hunt group similar to POTS lines?

Thank you!

-Did you mean Target Line 221?
-When you say 2nd call comes in do you mean when the 1st phone is on the 1st call still?
-"and so on" do you mean when the 3rd call comes in it only rings 3 phones?

When assigning lines to sets they must not use Forward No Answer or Forward Busy or the lines must not be used in other services such as a Hunt Group.

I do not recall this behavior but somebody here might provide some more insight.

Thanks for your replies.

To clarify....
There are five PRI line appearances on five phones.
When the first incoming call rings, it rings on all five phones.
One of the five agents answers the incoming call.
When a second simultaneous incoming call rings, it only rings on the four "idle" phones, and not on the agent's phone who answered the initial call.

We do have forward-no-answer set to ring their answering service after four rings.

You did not exactly answer the questions above but assume it's correct how I wrote them.

"There are five PRI line appearances on five phones"
"Target Lines" not PRI lines.

What software level?
It maybe just a quite softring by design.
No sense ringing loud while on another call.

Maybe instead of Target Line appearances remove them and then try assigning a Target Line as Ring Only to each of the 5 sets and give them 5 Intercom buttons each.

Thanks for your response.

I can't recall if the lines are provisioned as "Target", and this system resides at one of our remote locations so it's not in front of me now.

We tried the "intercom" option first and that didn't work for the users.

The site is a medical clinic, and the main issue is they would like for the 5 incoming lines to appear on all phones throughout the facility, but ring only on the 5 phones at the front reception area.

They would like for the receptionist to handle the incoming calls, place them on hold and page the doctors instructing them to pick up line 1, or line 2, etc..

Right now, when they place an incoming call on hold it only appears on the phone that answered the call.

I'm also not sure what the software level is, but the system was recently upgraded to accommodate the new PRI circuit.
