Hello everyone,

I have been a member here for awhile and decided to finally post something. I have gained some valuable information here that has proven very helpful. Thank you all for the input of knowledge some of you offer. I have come across some good solutions on a few things through the time I have been here, the search function works great here.

Of course I have a problem that needs some attention.

Mitel 3300 version 12.0.2.23.

Request was for "boss" to have all external calls (DID's) go to "admin". Internal calls in our network from all locations that have extension numbers dial direct to "boss".

I set the DID's and CO accordingly and put them into the call alternatives (Always and First along with Day 1 and 2 and Night 1 and 2.) After that was set everything worked and everyone was happy....until...

Admin cannot transfer those external calls to the "boss" because of course, external calls are ALWAYS directed to her extension.

I have been going through various settings and cannot get this particular scheme working to where the admin can transfer the call. I have not seen anything like "call forward external". I am about ready to give the "boss" a new extension and forward all calls to the "admin" and let her sort it out...like they did not so long ago. :)

Thanks,

J

Simplest solution is to modify the DID before dialing on the system

This assumes you already know all of the dids

Create speed calls for ALL your DIDs that are prefixed with non-conflicting digits such as 1*

e.g. Did 1234 would be entered as 1*1234 that dials 1234

Once ALL dids have entries, in the trunk attributes for the pri, insert digits 1*

At this point you've actually done nothing except add 1* and then removed it

With the Bosses DID, you can now route where it dials on the system wherever you want. E.g. Create a key on the admin phone as #1234

The speedcall 1*1234 would be changed to now dial #1234

#1234 gets routed to vm and will answer with the bosses mailbox

Internally dialing 1234 will ring the bosses line normally

Voila

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Just a caution, if you go this route, you must have an entry for every single DID on the system duplicated in the speed call table.

Any you miss, will fail.

Sorry for the long time span for reply.

After hours of racking my brain, I know that everything I did was set up right. I called up our guru and he checked through it with me and we tested it and it worked as it should and transferred as they wanted it to.

I sent one of the techs upstairs and reset everything to the proper extensions (tested it with multiple phones in shop first).

"Admin error", this individual did not know how to transfer a phone call properly. She was given a small class and viola.

Amazing.

Thanks guys,

J
