I am installing solaris 7 when it come to booting I get the


error /etc/bootrc failed

is this because the CD not supported or some thing else is there any way around this and I am thinking to copy the CD to the hard disk do you agee with me especially I have to format the harddisk with fat first I am new for this please I you r help is urgent.Thanks
 
did you try move CD-Rom to IDE-primary slave, (assuming that yours is in IDE-Secondary master), if you try this don't forget also the change de jumper on CD.

it is already primary slave do you thing I should try secondary master

by the way any reason for trying Solaris 7 in place of Solaris 8 ?

no nosuccess I am using 7 because I have it any other proposal

did you alreay try booting from DCA diskette in place of CD-Rom ?

DCA is boot disk you mean yes I am using solaris 7 so I have to use boot disk .
