Aloha version 5.3x...

Can anyone tell me what processor Heartland Payment Systems should be setup under in EDC?

I didn't think Heartland was supported until 6.0
Either way it's supposed to be configured as Visanet

It formerly work under Visanet in previous versions, and the sales guy is telling me that it is now supposed to run under it's own heading call Exchange. I didn't check again yet, to see if this is even on the list in this version (that may be the 6.0 your talking about).

These CC processors drive me batty. Got this guy on the other end saying "Oh, but we're endorsed by Aloha.. blah blah.. I know it works." Yeah whatever- they just expect everyone to know how to set it up and assume it can work. They should have minimal technical knowledge and the common sense to ask what version the client is on with their POS system and see if it will work, before they sell their services.

If anyone else has ideas, let me know.

Use Visanet. If they are using high speed for processing you have to add a line to the EDC.INI for the IP Host
It would be on the configuration sheet

Heartland has its own "exchange" now. Does that still fall under Visanet? I thought they were supposed to get a new selection in the dropdown for that.

Yeah, the setup sheet that I got from Heartland does appear to fit the visanet perfectly. However, does anyone exactly where I need to change the IP/URL that visanet normally works with in the EDC.ini? Do see a section that has something like PrimaryIPAuthorizationHost= (not the exact phrasing), but it's blank. I would assume I would want to be changing one that already has the old address for visanet.

The rep is giving me hard time when I told him what the upgrade to 6.0 (assuming thats the one that actually has Exchange in the drop down list) would probably be several thousand dollars at least (and our client is refusing to do that). Guess he should made sure it could work with this version before he made the sale. Anyway, I told him I would see what I could do.

Any suggestions?

I don't think there is an area to add the IP/URL. If you are using the Visanet config, just check the "Use SSL" That is all that is required for Visanet. Heartland does process under Vital/Visanet. If the sheet is setup for the Heartland exchange, they will have to change it to Vital. They don't like to do that but they will. The customer "saves some money" processing with the exchange.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have the fix, and I am just posting here in case anyone else needs it.

Basically, why I think checking SSL doesn't work is simply because the addresses has changed for Heartland.

There is indeed no place to modify the address in the EDC.ini in terms of URL- you simply have to add the entry under VISANET:

IPHOST=<address>

That's really all there is to it.

The heartland help desk should have the answer. they do understand how Exchange works with Aloha. but let me give it a shot.
Use the visanet configuration and chsck ssl
Add the following line under the visanet section of the
Aloha. ini

IPHost=httpsprod.secureexchange.net

add IPHost=httpsprod.secureexchange.net to EDC.ini under Visanet. Exchange only works for 5.3.27+ for High Speed

You are not compliant with that version. Be very careful. Lawsuits are becoming all too common over this
