Headset makes phone beep not ring ??

I have a wireless headset on a M2616 and the phone is not ringing anymore it just beeps any idea how I can make it ring... it will make it easier for the other person to pickup their line because they are on a call pickup group. THanks. This is obviously b/c the handset is no longer on the hook.? how do you get around it???thanks

None that I know of. But you can make it beep more than just the 1 time by putting FITA in the CLS of the phone.

Change back is FITD.

If you are using a wireless headset, you might be able to get a unit that will allow you to take the handset off-hook remotly. We have a few GN Netcom wireless headsets, and they have a lifter that works with the 2616. You leave the handset in the cradle, and when a call comes in you press a button on the headset to lift the handset. Works very well. I am not sure if Plantronics makes a lifter for the 3900 series, but they do work well on the 2616 or 2008 sets.

haven't found one for the 3900 series, but that one beeps in your ear, so the phone doesn't need to ring. that makes it usable in an acd enviroment.. we couldn't have phones ringing all day with agents all on handsets. those were 2216's on the install but most are 2616's now..

Yep, ringing phones and ACD do not mix well. The one my Monitor group uses has the lift, and it allows them to move around the room and still answer calls. They are alone in the room, so it works much better than it would if this was a call center.
