trying to use the headset feature button on 6416 phone,with plantronics headset and plantronics modular amp (m12 where you normally take handset off-hook to get dialtone in headset.) are we using the wrong amp type for this feature to work? how does this feature work?
thanks =)

Use an 'HIC' cord from Planatronics. List price is around $37.00. It plugs into the modular headset jack on the bottom of the set. You use the volume control on the phone to control the headset volume.

You can purchase direct from Avaya at for $31.00 (US). I also did a google seach, and found for $43.45 (US). Imagine, Avaya Direct selling stuff cheaper than the street! ;-) Susan

FYI - the Plantronics part number for this is 27190-01.

I have the headset and the M12 working fine using the headset button without and additional cord. Currently working on 6408D+ phones and 6424D+ phones.

If you have not already fixed the problem maybe I could help you.

Could someone tell me if there is a difference between the Plantronics 27190-01 cord verses the 26716-01 cord? Reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to plug Plantronics headsets straight into the base of my 6416d+ phones, and I can't get any sound at all. We have the 26716-01 cords here. I've had headsets directly connected to the phones where I used to work, but I can't get it to work now. Is there something on the Avaya switch that needs to be set that maybe gives more power to the headset jacks or something?
Thanks!

The HIC cord requires the 64XX+M phones.

The "standard" cord has a thin plug like on the headset. The HIC cord has a fat plug.
