I am typing in a text box in publisher 2007. Using Georgia font. The first line of text in bold the next not bold. Both lines in text #3. I am getting a double space between the first line and the second line. How can I get just one line space there?

It's probably because of the paragraph formatting. there are two ways to do it:

Format - styles & formatting - select the sytle you want to change (eg "Normal" perhaps?) - modify - paragraph

Make sure that the and then make sure that the Line Spacing - After Paragraphs is set to zero, and that your Line Spacing is on 1 (ie, a paragraph in this case means after you press "Enter")

If it's just a once off for that text box, then you might want to just apply it to that paragraph: Select the text - Format - Paragraph - then same as above

I'm only using 2003...so the commands might be slightly different

stroppy, Thanks for the info. I tried the instructions you sent me, but I still can't get the program to so what I want.I am attaching a copy of the file so you can see the problem.
Thanks again,

I don't know how to post the file so you can see it.

Sorry, don't know about uploading files. What I said before is where you'll probably have to look unless Pub 07 is vastly different to 03. It's probably in the "Format" - "Paragraph" menu and will be to do with the spacing (or points) after a paragraph....or before a new style...after a particular style or something like that.

Good luck, sounds a little annoying. Of course, you could "cheat" and put the heading in it's own little text box and then line it up with the other text box. You have to make sure the second text box does not have "Text Wrapping" so you can get the first text box really close without making the text in the second text box move away, so to speak. Sounds complicated but it's not! Just fiddly.

I don't think you can upload the files to this site. If you want, send the file to me at jl dot paules at hotmail dot com. I have Pub 2007 and I'm willing to take a look at it.

I want to thank you for the help on the previous problem. I have another one.
In a text box I centered a line of text. The next line of text I would like to left justify. When I use the left justify button to do that the line above changes form centered to left justified as well.

You need to hit the return key after the first line to have different justification.
