Hi I have a couple of questions about header checks...

1. Is it possible to have mail with a certain header go to another mailbox instead of just rejecting it ?

example: /^Subject: MAKE MONEY/ REJECT would be change to /^Subject: MAKE MONEY/ (forward to spam mailbox)

2. Is there a way to change the default reject message? Maybe to something not so nice :)

3. Does lots of header checking slow the program down (say 1000) header checks ?

Feel free to answer 1 or all questions !!
Thanks

If you want to filter out spam from your email i would suggest having a look at spamassassin (and possibly amavisd-new (Anti-Virus/Content-checker helper)

By using these your email will be filtered by a ruleset which will catch about 90% or more of the SPAM floating around on the internet.

I've set it up on several machines and it works like a charm.

Thanks I took you advice and am now running Postfix, Amavisd-new and Spamassisin. The spam messages are being marked as ***SPAM**** in the subject line and then sent to my mailbox. I would like to take things to the next step and have Amavisd-new or Spamassin redirect the spam to a special email address say..spam@abc.com instead of it being delivered to joe@abc.com with a spam subject line.

Thanks Again

There is some info on that on the spamassassin or amavis site.

I Generally have spam that hits over 12 points rejected.
(It still saves a copy in /var/spool/virusmails)
