Hello,

has anyone idea how to change in the system hdisk names to have rootvg on hdisk0 and hdisk1 (please look at below output)?

# lspv
hdisk0 0055fcd59664e70b tsm active
hdisk1 0055fcd50ec90122 tsm active
hdisk2 0055fcd5f12fd4f3 rootvg active
hdisk3 0055fcd50ec90336 tsm active
hdisk4 0055fcd50ec90546 tsm active

HI,

If you would consider reinstalling your sw from scratch - then you could remove/switch off all your tsm disks, then reinstall the sw on the remaining 2 disks that AIX would recognise then as hdisk0 and hdisk1 (the only one connected at that time ...)

The only other way I can imagine would be a manual ODM tricking, one very delicate and dangerous job .

To change disk name you can play around with mirroring if you have it enabled ... RAID1

You need to free up one disk, then create a mirror of the data you want to move it to ... once the data is synchronized you can remove the initial copy of the data ...

You can also rmdev the device and mkdev to create using another name ...
