Hard drive was installed an very loud whineing noise comming from it ,does NOT boot up,Can I fix it?

Ty Satrow for replying, "more details":as soon as it has power it starts whineing, the computer doesn't detect hardrive ,The hard drive is a fujitsu, model:mpg3204at,

There is your answer; faulty Fujitsu drive...actually Fujitsu blame Cirrus Logic, who made a tiny component or two.....

If its making a lot of noise, your data is probably gone forever (unless you have a very deep pocket).

Probably best to buy a new drive and start again.

Sorry....

Andy.

Gees I now have a "quantum fireball lct" having same problem with this hard drive, does this pattern mean if it "whines" it's junk?...is it worth fixing it...cost effective?

another hind, try swapping the pcb, see discussion elswhere in this forum.
If the drive contains data it is always wurth a shot.

The Fujitsu drive must be 4/5 years old; The "quantum fireball lct" could be too - where are you getting them from - a dumpster?

Andy.
