HD seen in computer management but not seeen in my computer 3

I have just reinstalled win Xp Pro. Installation went just fine. But I have 2 other disks one on an ata card. Which I can access without problems. But my (previous d) second hard can't be access as it's not seen in my computer. But when I go to computer management. It's there! Doesn't have a letter but has a name.

How can get this disk back accessable?

Will Disk Management let you add a drive letter? Or does it see it as unformatted? Have I understood correctly - the problem drive is connected via a normal mobo IDE connector. The one connected via the ata card is ok? (if so, have you tried connecting problem drive via ATA card?)

The answer is no.

It used to be my D. It's now identify as disk 1 device IDE partition style MBR. It says it's healty and active NTFS.The same as my two other disks but this one doesn't have a letter.

What actually happens if you right click on this drive in disk management? Is the 'Change Drive letter and paths..' option greyed out? Or does it let you in to it, but doesn't give the Add option? Or something else?

I just restarted the computer with myold D on the ATA card. I see the drive but noting hs changed

to your question: The only option available is delete partition.

Would it have anything to do wth rights to access the drive. Since I have installed a new OS?

Sounds as if you right-clicked on the NTFS partition rather than the drive.

I have also tried to install the drive in an external HD box and it's the same. Disk not seen in my computer but seen in the disk management. With the only option to delete the partition.

Would it have to do with the rights to access a drive from a previous OS. Under XP PRO

Open a command prompt.
Enter diskpart
Enter select disk x where x is the drive number of the drive having problems, as shown in Disk Management
Enter select partition 1 Not sure if this is necessary since only 1 partition exists
Enter detail partition and note the info
Enter exit to quit

Do you suggest that I should install the software.Which I have but not intalled it.
I have downloaded the software Stellar Phoenix and can see all my files with it. Unfortunatelay, it cost 99.00$ US to recuperate the files.

One of the problems here is the Hidden: Yes entry in the partition table. I'm not sure what a Type: 44 partition is either. A Google search of type 44 indicated a partition altered by GoBack, which is why I asked.

What is the history of this drive? Was it ever used as a boot device in a multiboot system? Have you ever used some kind of partitioning software, such as Partition Magic? I think it's important to figure out what made the partition hidden.
