HD partition deletion

When i installed Linux, it partitioned my harddrive into 4 partitions(i think). Since then i have had to format my hard drive but i think it is still in partitions. Is there anyway i can restore my harddrive to how it was before it was partitioned??

If you're starting from scratch, it's probably easiest to boot from a DOS disk and use fdisk. It will allow you to delete DOS and non-DOS partitions. You can download a file to make a DOS boot disk from
 
I did that and when i select "delete non-dos partition" or "delete dos partition" it goes to a new screen and nothing happens. It just displays:

Current fixed disk drive :1




Press esc to return to menu

 
After you do that, on the main fdisk screen, what does it show for item 4, partition information?
 
boot from floppy (9x/me) and at the prompt type fdisk /mbr, then try again to repartition the disk.
if you are not able to do so your mbr might be faulty.
you can also boot from w2k/xp cd to repartition the disk.

He was asking what partition information fdisk is displaying from its option 4.

If there are no partitions, you can go ahead and create one (or more) new ones, by the method of your choice. If there are, try another method to remove them - eg,
