Havuing just helped one of my Juniors with a NFS problem I though I would enlighten some of you on here.
Problems where had starting up the nfs.server on a Solaris 8 box. Checked /var/adm/messages and here is what it said.
Sep 1 15:20:20 blade /usr/lib/nfs/nfsd[3330]: [ID 408793 daemon.error] t_bind t
Sep 1 15:20:20 blade /usr/lib/nfs/nfsd[3330]: [ID 128213 daemon.error] Cannot e
Sep 1 15:20:20 blade /usr/lib/nfs/nfsd[3330]: [ID 408793 daemon.error] t_bind t
Sep 1 15:20:20 blade /usr/lib/nfs/nfsd[3330]: [ID 128213 daemon.error] Cannot e
Sep 1 15:20:20 blade /usr/lib/nfs/nfsd[3330]: [ID 679034 daemon.error] Could no
SImple I thought it was because the nfs client script had been run as well and hence no nfs services will be offered, turn of /etc/init.d/nfs.client and turn on /etc/init.d/nfs.server and all will be fixed.
Cheers
