so i'm having problems with this old computer i have .. after unplugging everything and moving it to a new monitor i can't get into windows .. the windows screen loads .. and then eventually i get a black screen .. the weird thing is i can see my mouse moving around .. it just doesn't get into the login screen for user accounts which i know is setup ..

another weird thing is that i am able to get into safe mode and everything works fine.

any suggestions? i was (thinking) that my old setup was dual monitor, but now it's on one monitor .. i was wondering if it was black because the computer thinks it's on the secondary screen & not the primary?

See if you can uninstall the Video Driver from Safe Mode (via Device Manager), reboot into Normal Mode and reinstall the Driver?

nvm solved it by removing the video drivers!

Glad you fixed it, but as a point of reference, when moving a computer to a new monitor, it’s important to check the resolution running on the old monitor and ensure that the new one can handle at least that. Since resolutions are kept on the computer and not the monitor, the native resolution on the newly installed monitor could be causing issues similar to this, making it near impossible to get it to load.
