the software version of the call pilot is Version 31.10.37.22

they have had a couple of times this month where someone calling in has just had ring no answer probably because both ext connected to the call pilot has been in use. it only has the 2 ports to connect to phone system. but in the conf. report it says it has 8 ports. I tried to put 2 of the ext from the mics on one line cord and connect to the vm and that failed ports showed as unavailable and took a little while after i put it back to start working again. have a call pilot guide but it does not include the installation part. Is there any way to add a couple more ext to the call pilot so it can answer 4 calls at a time instead of 2. thanks
this is from the conf. report

Each port will take 2 extensions giving you a total of 4 extensions on the Call Pilot. Each extension has 2 channels giving you a total of 8 channels or calls that can access the system at the same time.

Summary
CP 100 2 jack = 2 ports (4 channels), wire up first pair of each jack
CP 150 2 jacks =4 ports (8 channels), wire up first and second pair of each jack

In maintenance you will see either 2 ports (CP100) or 4 ports (CP150)

i tried wiring up the jack with the 1st ext on the green/re and the 2nd on the black/yellow and it did not like it. when i checked the ports in the maintenance on the mics it said the ports were unavailable and i could not call the 2 exts. is there a special way to wire them?

1st you can't call the ext. check in maintenance to if if ports are active. As previously suggest also check maintenance for CP100 or CP150. Also when you add the new ports reboot the CP.

it worked until i tried to have the 2 ext on one line cord going to the call pilot and then it quit until i put it back to 1 ext per port on the call pilot. however it took a few minutes after i put it back to 1 per line cord for it to start working. that is why i wanted to know if there is a special way to wire the jack.

Any time you disconnect the cord plugged into port 1 of a CallPilot will cause it to reboot. Allow 5-10 minutes after reconnecting the cord for the CallPilot to come back in service. Wire your jacks as per curlycord's example, and be sure you're not splitting the pairs.

Don't overlook line cord to call pilot must have 2 pairs in it. and you should get 4 green lights when unit recognizes the stations.

thank you all. Thanks for the information that the call pilot reboots when you unplug the line cord. I wired 2 jacks with 2 ext each and plugged them in and waited for the unit to reboot and it worked. thank you
