Make sure you can print from your linux machine first before you setup print server on samba. Can you print from local machine? Samba part is very easy and straight forward as long as you have printer config on local machine.
I am able to print to a network printer. Yes, that work fine. I am trying to replace an NT print server that we are currently using. I am trying to my Linux box as a centralized server that will queue various print jobs to a wide array of printers?
I have installed three printers via JetDirect to my Linux box. I have a few people on my network testing the printer trying to overload the queue with various print jobs. Everything is work fantastic.
How are you? I´m new to this forum and I would like to ask you something about how to setup a print server on linux.
This is my scenario:
I have 5 PC with windows 98 and Linux, I would like to install a Print server on other PC and finally I have 3 printers, 1 atached to a PC and the rest are pluged directly to a network node.
I would like to setup a Print server that can deliver printing petitions from PC1 to PC2 to printer1, from PC3 to PC4 to printer2, and finally PC5 to printer3.
So , what I should setup or configure on my print server and their respectives clients?
