I am looking to install CCMS 6.0 on VMWARE which is a virtual server, has anyone done or tried this yet?

There was a similar thread about 6-9 months ago. I wouldn't do it as Nortel does not support it.

yes you can even in cc6, definitely cc7 will support virtual servers

I am not aware that Nortel will support WMWARE for CC6. If you have knowledge, please share with TelTech11 (and the rest of us).

have you installed your CCMS 6.0 on a virtual server?

Still waiting to see if anyone has actually used a virtual server?

I cannot answer your question about whether anybody has actually used a virtual server. What I can say is that Nortel does not document it as supported in either Release 6 or the upcoming Release 7.

If the Call Centre operation is essential I would really not recommend running it through VMWARE, you are looking for trouble..

CC will be supported on Rls 7 on a virtual server. Below is taken from the What's New NTP on nortel.com.

VMWare
Contact Center 7.0 introduces support for VMWare. VMware involves the virtualization of your network, allowing one computer to replace multiple computers. The following documents include content on this feature:

• Nortel Contact Center Planning and Engineering (NN44400-210)

As BrokenRecord2 has stated CC7 will work on a VMware slice min rls 3.5, CC6 is NOT supported on VM, though it does work, but would not recommend this to any customer. IT IS NOT SUPPORTED BY NORTEL

I'm going to be testing this on a IBM Blade, VMWARE scenario. If it is successfully I'm not that concerned about the Nortel Support given we can quickly restore that last known configuration.

Will let you all know.

our symposium is on a ESX server VMWARE.. running virtual.. We had it first installed and running on a regular server so nortel could set it up, then converted the actual machine to a virtual machine.. Runs fine..

In reponse to "Pir8Radio" do you mean you had Symposium 5.0 running on a regular server then moved your Symposium 5.0 to a Virtual server?
