Can anyone provide some advice. My company has booked me onto the Solaris 8 administrator course even though we currently use Version 7. The plan is to move to V8 sometime in the future. My question is this. Will I be able to install / administer V7 with my V8 training. The course syllabus between the v8 & 7 appear to be identical which suggests the admin tasks should also be similar.

Cheers

If the course seems the same and the Solaris 7 version allowed you look after your current system the one would imagine ditto for the Solaris 8 course.
Check the aims of the course. [sig]<p>Ged Jones<br><a href=mailto:gedejones@hotmail.com>gedejones@hotmail.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br>Top man[/sig]

I worked on both Solaris 7 and Solaris 8.There is not much difference in the basic OS.But you will have Solstice utility,Netscape etc with the solaris 8 CD.A number of third party utilities including Apache etc is also available with Sol 8.Sol 8 takes much more space than 7
