I have been having a heck of a time. My cd-rom won't start up in win 2000 pro. It has an exlimation sign, and comes up with error 19 your registry might be corrupted. I have unistalled and reinstalled the cd-rom several times. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Did you try doing a 'Last Known Good Configuration'?

Hi there,

Make sure that your IDE cable is seated correctly in both the Drive and the MoBo... then make sure that you have the updated Chipset Drivers for your MoBo installed... if this don't fix it try a new IDE cable (Preferably one with 80 cable one)... if that won't work then try anew CD ROM... else you might have a shot IDE port on the mobo side...

Hiya mate
The error code 19 can translate to 'The media is write protected'
This might not be any help at all ecept to back up what the others have said...It might be shot...Have you tried another CD-Drive,,Process of elimination...
