Hello,

Has anybody created a voice response application with visual basic. (Or everthing else....)

Help me !

Yes! There are several good third party OCXs out there that work with Visual Basic in creating IVR (Interactive Voice Response) applications.

I have used VBVoice and the documentation and code was pretty straight forward.

Thank you Neil,

I have bought a Dialogic board to start with. The first step is to get everything working before I can use vbvoice e.g. Do you have experience with Dialogic, or do you recommend me another product ?

Regards,

Microsoft Has an SDK you can download that comes with everything you need includeing examples for Voice-to-Text & Text-to-Voice...

The only way to go is with the Pronexus VbVoice product and and Dialogic. I have an app that I have been working with for years. Development is easy and Pronexus is great

Ok,

VbVoice is a product i've also seen on the internet. But the 'problem' is the dutch language support proberly. I creating a voice response app. for a dutch company, one of the requirements is dutch 'spoken' language in the app.

Is this also possible with VbVoice, if yes .. how ?

Thanks !

Is it a requiremen that the programming be done in VB?

If not, I would suggest you look at Which is a drag'n'drop interface to an IVR system. You can very quickly build up complex voice systems... probably much faster than they can be coded! Multi language support is standard, i believe

just a thought

It is not necessary to have in VB, but I have al ready build a complete application in vb, with sql as backend. So i thought it was easier to do it vb. But if envox can do everything for me, why not.

The biggest problem proberly is 'my own realtime piece' within the software.

Yes it is totally possible. They may even have the system prompts recorded in Dutch. Otherwise you can record them yourself.

Can you also tell me something about the pricing of Envox? I'm working for a small/mid-size company... money is a important thing....

Regards,

I can't help on pricing

The developemnt kit is free though. I think you pay per channel of telephony

sorry to be so vague, but look at their website and I am sure you will find a link to a reseller in Holland
