Been meaning to get one and try it out. We only use Leviton jacks and this looks like a real time saver.

We use tons of Leviton; they usually don't get the credit they deserve, so it's cool to see a tool for Leviton first, but I talked to a buddy at Fluke/Harris and he said that Hubbell and others will be out in the future....

Of course, I'll check how much it cost to equip with theese things. It would have helped with a 2800 drop install the other day, with Leviton QuickPort modular patch pannels too... boy did my hand hurt after that one!

Hubbell already has their own four-pair punch tool for their jacks. Works like a regular 110 four/five pair punch tool. AMP also has their own as well.
My guess is all manufactures will have their own soon if not the go the Harris route as Leviton did.

Graybar cost for this unit is $69.00

it does have changable dies and I believe it says more manufacturs dies are comning .

We use tons of leviton, and a couple of us have the jack rapid. The time it saves, more than pays for itself each day. Also, my hands aren't nearly as sore at the end of a day, as they were when you had to punch each wire down 1 at a time. They are also coming out with a cat 6 attachment for it. I would reccomend this to anyone that terminates a lot of Leviton cat 5 jacks. You'll wonder how you were ever doing it before. Now if they could come up with something similar for the quickport patch panels.

I had a demonstration with a tool from Amp and got to test drivew it-my techs as well as I were impressed with the ease and preciseness of the crimp and finished product-it is pretty interesting and I am going to invest in one--it is made for cat6 amp modplugs--but also for cat5e

We also use the AMP tool. When you purchase make sure it has the newer style die set.

i decide to let wifey buy me one for chrstmas
i'll let you know how I like it

for anyone intrested home depot has them with a mail in for a free stripper there 1.00 more than graybar but I figure the strippers worth a buck

Free strippers at Christmas!?!?! What kind of racket is Home Depot running? I'm Shocked! That's no form of entertainment for Cristmas.....

I finally got one , got it new on ebay for 26.00 plus shipping came to 33.00 (no free stripper though Trevor :) )

tried it a bit yesterday and it really is nice , I can see it saving a LOT of time

I hope they come out with some diffrent manufactures dies though as we dont always use leviton ( though I suspect we will start once we run thru the other stuff in stock )
