I am trying to set up a scanner workstation for a client of mine. The scanner is an IDEAL Contex Full Scale Scanner (Architectural Drawings). The scanner required a SCSI Interface so I put an Adaptec 2930 SCSI Card into my machine. What is happening is when I restart my computer, the device goes away, but if I scan for new hardware, it finds it. Does anyone know why the device would be getting lost when I restart?

Are u installing a SCSI card driver as well as the actual scanner driver? Windows may install its own drivers but the best drivers to use are the ones from the manufacturer.

I talked to the manufactorer, they said none of their large-scale scanners have individual drivers. The drivers are found in software, which in my case was EZ-SCSI. Anything else he said would be provided for by the scanning software. But like I said, it works great for the moment it detects until I restart again, so the drivers have to be good. Right?
