hardware mirroring problem

recently i plugged in a new windows 2000 HDD to replace one of the spoiled HDD, and noticed that the hardware mirroring does not work anymore...
Does anyone know how to reactive the mirroring for compaq servers?

the compaq raid controller is faulty, so i have configured win2k mirroring instead.
After the mirroring process is done, i removed hdd Disk1 but it does not boot from Hdd Disk2.
how do i configure to boot from disk2 if disk1 fails?
