Hello gurus,

I'm not a newbie at HP-UX, but I never had to harden the
operating-system.My boss expects now some miracles (as usual in this business). The System (HP-UX11) has a database-application
with its user-environment.
Basically, what is the best aproach to such a project, and
what planing steps are required. What is actually done when hardening a system? Are there some documents
available on the Internet?
Is there any HP-Software available ?

As time is running short, I would apreciate any help and
advice.

Thank you for helping.

regards,

Fred

(P:S: excuse my bad English)

"Hardening a server" at my account is running through a Unix security checklist to ensure the appropriate security controls are in place to secure the server. There are numerous Security Checklists available online that you can use as an reference.

We also use ISS Internet Scanner to scan for any network vulnerabilities.

Thank you for the checklist references. This is what I was
looking for.

Regards, fred
