i had the folowing configuration on my hdd:

- 1 primary ntfs partition with win2k
- 1 primary extended partition which contained two logical partitions: a linux swap partition and a windows fat 32 partition.

i booted from the win98 installation CD and the windows setup repartitioned my hard drive creating only one primary fat32 partition. i stoped the setup program when i realised that it takes too long to format my hard drive. initially i believed that the setup will reformat only the ntfs partition but it wasn't that way. now i have a fat32 primary partition, newly formatted and clean (to not overwrite the previous data). Do i Have any chance to recover my very important data from my old fat32 partition???

i had there all my work!!

Hello Sorin !
I see that electraboy advices a do-it-yourself tool for recovery. It is not necessary the best solution. You must consider how valuable the data is for you. Using a professional (but of course more expensive) data recovery company you are more safe getting your data back.
(no companies mentioned... I am into the business myself)

I'm sorry arneb !
This Proggy is from Powerquest. Isn't that a little bit a proven company about Disk Management and Partitioning software ?
We still use PQ Magic 5.0 in our company because it works great !
It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
