My hard dirve is making a whirring noise. Nothing bad has happened yet but the noise doesnt sound as if it could mean anything good. I recently installed a fan blowing into the computer in order to send cool air towards my two hard drives. im not sure if it could have any effect but i think it would be positive. Im not sure why my hd is making this noise

I thought the hard drive was making noise which is a definite "you"re begging for trouble if you don't back up everything top priority!" After I ran out to get a replacement hd i discovered all the whinning noises were coming from a dying cpu fan that was starting and stopping another "replace or you have no one to blame but yourself" situation.
