I have a compaq proliant 1600 with 3 4.3 gig drives. I need more space. There is only space for 3 drives. My computer shows 2 drives of 4 gigs each. Disk administrator shows 2 drives of 4 gigs and an unactive drive of 36mb that has EISA utilities on it. What happened to the remaining space? How can I get the missing gigs back?

Seems like RAID is set up on the server. More than likely you have two harddrives that are mirrored. That is why you would only see two harddrives is disk administrator....first drive represents the two mirrored harddrives and the second drive represents the third harddrive (or vice versa).

Reboot the machine and pay attention to its bootup. You should see something about RAID and it should give you an option to go into it's configuration.
