I have an E1505 Dell Laptop starts up and runs just fine. Out of the blue, I decided to run a Diagnostics and it said I have a DST Short test error. What does this mean?
are you on XP and do you have the original disk with you, if so try this, it would detect and fix errors
Boot to CD (settings to be changed in DOS mode to boot from CD DRIVE) (sometiems AMI BIOS has the option to hit F8 and it will prompt u where u want to boot from)
run win xp boot cd and access the recovery console... run chkdsk... hit y when it asks u to... another way of doing this is right click on ur hard drive and choose properties.. tools... scan disk, it would give you a message that the scan could not be done and would resume when windows restarts, click ok and choose both the options asking for complete scan .. itll then say that scan will be done when windows is restarted, click ok and restart your pc, it will automatically run the scan , detect errors and fix it ... :O)
hi mobileman, sorry for the late reply, had been hectically busy, are you running windows XP? if so follow the steps above that i have previously posted to sort the error message
