Trying to install DPSS-309170 80PIN 9.1 GB in SS20. No jumper setting is done, boot -r gives error:

1. Error for command load/start/stop
2. Sense key: Not ready
3. LUN not ready

devfsadm picks up the drive (second disk, so it is c0t1d0).
Format gives drive type unknown, IBM says format.dat editing not required, but I did edit and still does not work. Any help would be appreciated.

check yout targets
ok: probe-scsi # one-controller
or
ok: probe-scsi-all ------------ jamisar

Yes, I did probe-scsi
and probe-scsi-all

but, it only shows the boot disk, which is at target 3

Regds,

so the other one is ALSO target 3 !!
the sys is confused about this.
change it using the jumper. ------------ jamisar

why sun use target 3 for the first hd ??
for sun the order is: 3012 why??

generally disks are target 0-3 and if you read
you will constate that tartget 3 better as target 0 is!!

Thanks for the suggestions jamisar, but I guess that the HDD is faulty as it does not spin (even though it is brand new and came in anti-static packing), the SCA pins are bent are touching each other or could be broken so it does not even recognise the drive.

Regds,
Anita
