~Hello All
Hope all is well
As soon as drive is connected to a serial or USB(external drive set up), it starts to hum & clocking noise are heard however Windows XP does not show it in My Computer & the USB symbol(looks like a small video tape symbol) doesn't show in the task bar...Wassup?

How can I retrieve data from an HD that's still alive?

Thanks in advance~

The clicking noise is a bad sign for starters,

Anyway:
If you right click on my computer, and go to Manage... then go down to Storage->Disk Management, does it show up there?

If not, then its probably gone, and you'll need to send it to a data recovery Professional.

If its there, then maybe you can get data recovery software to get your data back.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

Sorry I meant NO CLOCKING NOISES. Just normal humming. Thanks
