Hi, I have a 6 GB Maxtor HD and Windows ME, the HD hasn't give me any problems in the past 2 years when I bought it. But now, sometimes when I shut down correctly the computer, the next day when I turned on it doesn't load Windows, so I boot with a diskette and when I type "dir" in "C", many of the directories are corrupted, especially Windows, and also in some cases, some of the dirs or files have unknown names like "--_í", like trash names. Also, the HD doesn't have bad sectors, and doesn't sound wired or do extrange souns. And this IS NOT a virus, because I have Mcafee Virusscan 5.0 and it is updated.

I don't know what to do, I think it is the HD that is bad and I will have to change it. But I am not sure.
Any help???
