Have a Samsung SV1204H IDE Drive running on XP Pro with latest flash bios from Soltek which supports drives above 136gig. Partition Magic 8 reports 32 Gig hard drive should be 120 any ideas out there on how to stop it telling porky pies

Is the HD partitioned with FAT32 or NTFS?

Wich kind of pc also, there is a lot of pc who cant break the 32g barrers "especially notebook"

To Ski the partition is unallocated

To Nomatech it is an standard ATX pc

Does the BIOS AutoDetect of the hard drive show the correct size? That has to happen before other things can see it. Since 32GB is a common limit on older BIOSes [I have one] I'd guess the flash update may not have 'taken'.

To Berton
The boot Hard drive on this machine has a 60gig hard drive which the PC see's OK

To all solved it.

The problem was this. On this particular HD the jumpers can be set to limit the drive to 32Gig. There was a label on the hard drive which covered up this informaton. The drive had been shipped set to the 32Gig Limit. Thanks to you all.
