hard disk usb interface device

I have a notebook hard drive which im not using, it is 70GB so id like to put it to good use. i once saw an external usb device which allowed you to insert a normal hard drive into it, turning that hard drive into an external hard drive. does anyone know what these devices are called? i know they exist but cant think of the name for them
