It is date dependent so it might be out of date and you have to get an up to date one.
ADD-CODEW: SIM BYPASS CODEWORD;
Run in rest of ADS and all of SWU
(Edit the REGEN samtxt file to remove M1 1 and the M2 1 to make it easier)
Not all AMO's need to go back in - more information can be provided on this.

Now allow Unixware7 to install:
Also log on with Hyperterminal or similar terminal program 9 way connector to Service port on bottom processor.
Use 38400 8N1NN settings
ALLOW UNIX TO INSTALL - WAIT FOR
'Activation of ' (First) Installation' was successful.

If you have problems with Unix install try RESTART; in Comwin or try install again via the Unix/Hyperterminal menu.

I find that if I format the drive fully before setup it works.
If it does not work also try a different MO/HDD tray as it sometimes helps.

After Unix finished install go back to Comwin
ACT-USS:LTG;
You should get 'A' on the processor

Wait a few minutes for it to stabilize

Activate the previously transferred tar file
On occasion it will fail due to
Can not execute AMO DISP-DTSM:A1,HD;
If that happens go to Comwin
DEA-DSSM:A1,1;

DISP-DTSM:A1,HD;
Go back and activate Unix hot fix again

If it fails again try a soft restart by typing in Capitals in Comwin
RESTART;
Then wait until Unix fully loads up again (Watch Hyperterminal)
Go back and activate hotfix again.

After the Unix update is installed you will have to wait until the Popup is clear.
It should say
Update is running. Be aware of your actions.

Next go to System Management/HiPath 4000 Administration
Click on 'search'
Click on 'object'
Fill in system number (REG-ANUM;)
Click web admin
Click Configuration Management
Click Customer Data Tab - fill in Customer Name
In Contract fill in Contract Number

Then go to the 'configuration management' tab
and click on 'upload'
This will enable you to use the configuration management
(It does UPLO2 to the Unixware from the RMX)

Go to Access Management/Account Management
Add a new user and password
Then go back to Access Management and Access Right Configuration
Give this new user all the access from the right hand side
(Drag over each item)

You now have another user instead of the default in case it gets locked out.

Go to Base Administration
Application Control
Add in 2 at a time what is required for the system.
By default you should add in
Dynamic Traffic Monitoring
Test Simulation Key Activity
Configuration Management
Hardware and Symptom Diagnosis
Real Time Diagnosis System

When finished 'refresh' the main page to show the changes

After that in Software Management you can add a backup schedule.
Ensure that any backup schedule you put in does not conflict with the CRON schedules in the RMX.

Then to finish add in the Customer LAN IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, Firewall entries and any NTP clock
in Base Administration/Unix Base Administration.

Sequence of loading of Hipath is Area E then Area J then MO/Compact Flash Card
To backup to Area J
Deactivate Area J on the Hard Disk
DEA-DSSM:A1,1,J;
Do a backup
EXE-UPDAT:BP,ALL;
EXE-UPDAT:A1,ALL;
COPY-DDRSM:A1,1,E,1,J,N;

Add in CRON commands to backup automatically for example:
ADD-CRON:1,P,0,5,*,*,*,"EXE-UPDAT:BP,ALL;";
ADD-CRON:2,P,10,5,*,*,*,"EXE-UPDAT:A1,ALL";
ADD-CRON:3,P,20,5,*,*,0,"COPY-DDRSM:A1,1,E&F,6,E&F,N;";
ADD-CRON:4,P,30,5,*,*,0,"COPY-DDRSM:A1,1,E,1,J,N;";

Finally shutting down.
EXE-UPDAT:BP,ALL;
EXE-UPDAT:A1,ALL;
DEA-DSSM:A1,1;
Power down
bring to customer site, change out Hard Disk tray and power up.
Log on to Comwin and change the CODEW to the customers one.

Thanks Sbcsu,May I have"ADD-CODEW: SIM BYPASS CODEWORD" for H4K V5[bigsmile]

Hi Kevin,
What is your Bypass SIM number ?
If you have that - you can see it on loading up via Hyperterminal
or you can see it on the HiPath by DIS-CODEW
You can then get the corresponding CODEWORD from Unify/Siemens

hello sbcsu:

I just want to know, if I am in the lab without a SIM card, how to write the user's data.
BTW Can provide the relevant software download link:
1)Hard Drive Image tool
2)V3.0_HDCF_Boot_Image

Thank you

Hi Kevin,
You need a valid SIM card to run in the SWU part of the database.
This can be a customer SIM or a 'bypass' SIM card, with a codeword.
You could get everything else done before going to site, take a final regen from customer system and shut it down.
Then use their SIM to get the 'new' system going.
You can download the Hard Drive Image Tool from SEBA
I can put it online if you prefer, however the HDCF Boot Image is too large for me
to 'post' and having the Image Tool without the Boot Image does not make sense.
It should be easy enough to organise access to SEBA if you are making hard disks ?
Regards

[sad] I do not have access right to SEBA, I use HD CLONE to copy disk without codeword at now,but I have no by pass SIM card,and if I use any customer SIM card add codew date late than the customer I want input ADS data,I don't can add-codew any more, so it take me long time at customer site to input REGEN file.

Hi Kevin,
You need to talk with your employer to get access to SEBA to download software and get at least one bypass SIM.
Otherwise you can not do the job....

As I said even if you have the software you can not setup a new system/upgrade without the SIM Card for the SWU

Hello sbcsu

I'm starting on this Unify/Siemens world. First of all, I'm sorry for picking up this topic...if you want I can start a new one.

I bought an Hipath 4000 v2 for labs and testing but I can't access either assistant (using engr or rsta) or via Comwin (using root) with the default passwords.
Maybe you can help me. Do I have any chance to recover the passwords for engr, rsta or root?
If not, can I use this procedure for restore the HD, but for V2.0? I have access to SEBA and I have all the necessary files you mention here. Aditionally, the processor has a SIM card, so I suppose the SIM card has the necessary licenses to run a new V2, right?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Personally I would wipe the disk and start again, it will give you more insight as to how it all works.

Yes the above procedure would work for V2 IDE Hard Disk, if it is a V2 SCSI Hard Disk it is different.

Go to the CODEW tool and download the codewords for your SIM card via SEBA or direct.

If it has the V2 CODEW or if it is a 'Bypass SIM' with a V2 Codeword then you are good to go.
Setup a new thread if any problems.
Regards

Thank you for your fast response!

Where can I access CODEW tool? Is it the CLS in SEBA?

Get latest SIM Card Bypass Codew at Link
Or get to Codew tool via SEBA but it is the same destination

I haven't got access to that yet...I already requested it.

Meanwhile, that tool how does it work? I put the SIM card number there and it gives me the Codeword? Then I can know what versions are licensed in that SIM card?
