I am getting a Bad Block error in Event Log (The device, \Device\Harddisk0\DRO, has a bad block). The computer now and then boots only to a blue screen. It is also only recognizing its CDROM occasionally and giving a device error for that, as well. Is there any way to partition around the block or fix it?

This computer is running W2K SP3.

Thank you,

Juli

The drive may have developed physical errors on the Boot code or other OS critical areas. If the data is important avoid powering the drive as this may worsen the problem.
Try who should be able to help.

Thank you! I will give it a try!

Looks like they don't actually offer ideas of how to do it yourself. I really just need to know if it's possible to save the drive and if so, how. Otherwise, we'll replace.

Any suggestions along those lines would be great. But thank you, though!
