Hi
When my extensions hangup no clear down tone is sent. I need either Busy, Fast Busy or Dial tone rather than silence.
Is this feature available?
If so is it firmware level dependent?
Thanks

"down tone"??? what's that used for? DueE

When extension 230 calls to extension 231, and then 231 hangs up, the user on 230 needs to hear some kind of tone (Dial Tone, Busy or fast Busy for example). At present the user on 231 hears only silence.
Can this be changed??

Uhmm.... if someone hangs up on me, I think I would hear the handset hit the cradle, wouldn't you? Why does the other extension need to HEAR anything? MRoberts

Thats making the huge asumption that it is a person listening for the 'handset hitting the cradle'.
Well in my case its not a person - it is a VOIP unit waiting for a tone.
Any other suggestions?

Ah.... I see. More of a disconnect supervision between extensions thing, huh?
Well, the only thing I know of that gives that kind of disconnect supervision is a VMI. I don't know how that would work in your situation but I do know that others have used a Voice Mail Interface to get that DS function for other 'third party' devices. MRoberts

This option seems to be available on many other manufacturers pabx's.
Should I keep looking or are you confident that this option does definitely not exist on Norstar Pabx's??

Ok
Thankyou for your time and input
Regards
