Hi has anyone had issues with BCM50 (Release 2) IP Phones intermittently going to Handsfree when the Handset is lifted for an incoming call. I have had a number of complaints from users regarding this issue

Many Thanks

Make sure that the handset cord is plugged into the handset jack and not the headset jack. If it is in the headset jack the Handsfree will come on when the handset is lifted.

Thanks
But that is not the issue the problem only happens now again but reported at different sites by different users

Regards

I've had this issue before and it was due to the humidity in the room affecting the handset release button on Phase 1 IP Phones.

I had a recieved a bad order of these sets, i2002 and i2004's. Since replacing about 20 of them, have had no issues at that one site and will intermittently recieve a call or two at different sites but only with the Phase 1 phones.

I believe Nortel had a bulletin about this earlier in the year.

Hope this is helpful.

Hi
Many thanks for your help I will check/Replace the Handset and try to look for this bulletin . Once again thanks

You need to upload new service update patch BCM050.R200.095-IPTEL, it will fix your problems

BTW - Don't forget this patch as well - BCM050.SmartUpdate.System.004-200711
Consult your local telephone company for assistance, but those are the latest patches for BCM50R2

Once again Many thanks indeed (star on the way)

Regards
