Hallo,

I posted this in the "IBM - Informix Dunamic Server" forum as well, so my excuses for the double post.

I am not quite sure whether this is the right place to ask, but here goes.
I have a Sun box with an ip adrress of xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx on which is running an Informix 7.2 database. I want to change the ip address of the Sun box to 10.2.0.x which I can do in Sun OS. Does changing the ip address of the Sun box have any influence on the Informix database? I heard that for example Sybase binds itself to an ip address and there you need to run a tool to change this - is this the same on Informix?

there is no issue related to IP address and Informix database, you hv just to define the services in the "/etc/service" file in any of the server to run the informix database engine.
