Hi,
I have question? Does any one know what happened if....
data in VGDA of shared VG is different then data in ODM in standby node? I am using hacmp 5.2. I found information that when takeover happens varyonvg proces will stop when it find different data in VGDA and ODM. But what does it mean? Do the proces hang? Does the takeover fail?

Best regards,
Tom

But do you know how the different data in VGDA and ODM will affect the takeover process?

I would think the volume group would not varyon and takeover would fail. So make sure your vgda and odm information match between systems. You can sync this info at any time if you temporarily remove the VG lock and put it back after you have done your redefinevg. Take a look at the varyonvg command for info on how to disable the lock.
