I am trying to sync up the topology of two servers and and getting this error message:

clgetactivenodes: Unable to obtain pingable address for serverA.
clgetactivenodes: Unable to obtain pingable address for serverB.

The sync fails. I have checked the network resource defs as well as the adapter info. The /etc/hosts file looks correct as well. Any help would be appreciated.

show the outputs of the commands:

1. Run on both nodes:

ifconfig -a
netstat -rn

2. Run on the node where sync is run

/usr/sbin/cluster/utilities/cllsif

3. Check hostname resolution

for i in `/usr/sbin/cluster/utilities/cllsif|grep ether|awk '{print $1}'`;do host $i;done

4.
cat /etc/netsvc.conf

hi ,
what version of HACMP and OS have you got installed ?

hi ,
dO you use kerberos as authentication ? or standard AIX
authentication. If standard check ig kerberos is running and turn it off.

Try doing rsh to secondary node does this work ?

What maintenance level are you running ?
