Hi ppl,
I'm a new user of this forum, so.. hi all ;)

I'm looking for information about upgrading from HACMP 4.3 to 4.5 Can anyone give me some information about it?

Thanks

Thanks ogniemi that helps me a lot.

;)

I wouldn't upgrade to 4.5, go straight to 5.1 or 5.2, 4.5 still has some bugs, and if your on Progress DB, even worse. Failover may not work all the time.

5.1 has password sync across all nodes too...best reason to move to 5.1.

And don't migrate to 5.1 from 4.3 or 4.5. Don't even try to convert a snapshot and apply it. It's ugly and more than 1/2 the time doesn't work.

Just blow everything away, install hacmp as if it were never there and configure it from scratch.

CrystalWizard., what do you mean? ignore previous instalation? or remove it first?

btw- is there any portuguese here? ;)

remove the previous install. completely. reject the filesets. Then install the new version of hacmp.
Then configure hacmp from scratch. do NOT convert and apply a snapshot.

Ok.. where can i find v5.1? and.. how do i unistall the 4.3?

hacmp 5.1 cd isn't available for download, you gotta order it from IBM and it ain't cheap :)

regards,

R.

no base level code is downloadable. you have to order the base level of aix, hacmp or whatever. you can only download the updates (called ptf's) and fixes (apars).

it's cheap...if you have a business where you can't afford to be offline for more than a few minutes except during downtime. If you're going to lose a million dollars a minute, then 10,000 for an application is pretty cheap.
