I have a BCM50 the customer is looking to add a h.323 link to Ireland's Asterix PBX. I'm confused between the keycode for a VOIP media gateway and a keycode for VOIP trunks. Could anyone sled some light?

Thanks

NTKC0609 - VOIP Gateway license is what you need for H.323

Actually, you would be better off using a SIP gateway. Although Asterix supports h.323 (and never connected an Asterix to a BCM50), with SIP it would support all other soft switches, ie: SIPX, 3CX, BCM50, CS1k, CS2k, SCS500 etc.. H.323 is limited to Asterix and Nortel.

Also, SIPX is coming on real strong. Free, easy to setup and is basically a free SCS500.. And yes, I am an SCS500/SIPX fan..

Just my two cents..

The VOIP gateway trunk keycode will enable you to use either SIP or H.323

On Bcm50 you need Bcm50 VOIP Trunk keycode like "NTKC0224" for H323 or Bcm50 SIP Gateway like "NTKC0349" for SIP.
