any idea??

Hi

You have to check 2 things:
1. what are the permissions on /usr/local/bin/gzip. Make sure they are executable.
2. Make sure the /usr/local/bin is in your path.

Hi,

From command line, PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/bin. You can put in root .profile as well as other shell startup script eg. .kshrc .bashrc. All depend on your shell.

Or add it to /etc/profile and /etc/.login if you want it to take effect for all users. Annihilannic.
