This was just pointed out to us recently, and no problems prior to this problem, but we have just started having issues where when an E-mail gets an attachment (Word,Excel, etc) the receiver just see symbols/messed up text/etc basically unreadable. This only seems to happen when leaving our site (internal okay, external negative) which makes me thing it's the GWIA messing something up. I'm not sure which part of GW handles attachments, but re-installing / restarting the agent does not seem to fix it.

If anyone has any information that would help resolve the problem, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Found a solution:

In the properties of GWIA 6.5.1 we changed the SMTP/MIME - Message Formatting - Outbound settings - from Basic RFC-822 to MIME and it seams to be working.
