GW6.5.4 and IMAP

I have a client that has some MAC users that use an IMAP client to connect to groupwise. Prior to SP4, this was fine. Now the server utilization goes up and the entire system slows down. GWIA and IMAP are in the top 9 out of 10 in busiest threads. Furthermore, the GWIA will hang if you try to shut it down when it's in this condition.

Anyone else seen this?

Hi Marvin,

Yes this is a known issue. It does not happen with all IMAP connections, but with many. I haven't tracked down the exact situation (i.e. IMAP client, size of mailbox, etc...). You need to either back-rev or with one client I just disabled IMAP on their system.

I have not checked this with GroupWise 7 yet, so I don't know it it has been fixed.
